How Do I Switch Hosting Providers?

Changing web hosting providers can be simple. It can be completed with minimal hassle and downtime provided the four steps are followed in sequence.

1 - Order A Hosting Plan

Select a hosting plan and complete the ordering process. Once your account is created, we will send you an Email with your login information.

2 - Configure Your Account

Copy all content to your new account. Configure your Email, and databases. Once completed, test all portions of your web site to ensure it is working properly. Note any differences with our control panel and Email service from your previous provider.

3 - Move Your Domain Name

When you are ready to make the change, modify your domain name to point to our network. Contact your domain registrar and change your name servers to point to:

For minimal downtime, we recommend the change occurs during a weekend.

4 - Cancel Your Old Account

In approximately 12-24 hours the domain name should point to our network. Double-check the Email settings and your Email software so it will work with our service. After everything has been confirmed working, you should cancel your previous hosting provider.
